Application Examples and Customized Packaging Solutions

Below you can see some example setups and customized packaging solutions which have been designed by means of coating and soldering technology.

Packaging as a Service

PHOTONICPARTS_PACKAGINGSERVICE

At PHOTONICPARTS, we make advanced packaging simple and reliable.

Our customers send us their laser gain media or frequency conversion crystals – we take care of the rest.

How it works:

  • We design and tailor the right heatsink for your specific application
  • We manufacture the solution with our proven joining and assembly technology
  • We deliver a ready-to-use package – engineered for performance and reliability

With our expertise in thermal management, soldering technology, and robust assembly processes, we provide customized packaging solutions that ensure long-lasting stability and efficiency.

Active Solder Alignment

Optical components for machine-assisted assembly

Our active alignment technology enables us to achieve repeatable, consistent positioning of optical components in a molten solder interface. Local remelting using integrated heaters allows us to fix optical elements permanently and, stress-free fixation – without traditional mounts. The result: compact, robust, and precisely aligned optical systems.

  • Repeatedly adjustable in liquid solder
  • Fully integratable in machine-assisted automation setups
  • Completely glue-free, UV/vacuum/space-compatibility
  • Integrated heater and temperature sensor

PHOTONICPARTS_Honeycomb-setup

Example setup with integrated conducting paths

A practical setup example to demonstrate the various application possibilities of coating and soldering technology.

We've employed a symmetrical sandwich design, consisting of two glass plates soldered onto a lightweight ceramic base with a honeycomb structure, ensuring a matching coefficient of thermal expansion (CTE). On the optical side of the baseplate, we've applied partial coatings featuring conductive paths and solder pads. Every optical component can be selectively controlled and adjusted to its ideal state successively by melting the solder.

Enabling the customer to build industrial proven optical setups
